Musical Marathon of the 2017 Montreal Baroque Festival
"The theme of the 2017 edition of the now famous Montréal Baroque Festival marathon was chosen in the spirit of celebration surrounding Montreal's 375th anniversary.
"This year's marathon is inspired by a phrase that Mark Twain wrote during a visit to Montreal in 1888. ‘This is the first time I was ever in a city where you couldn't throw a brick without breaking a church window’. Thus, the largest city in Quebec became ‘the city of 100 steeples’. " (Montreal Baroque Festival website www.montrealbaroque.com/
