Welcome to the Montreal Recorder Society!

We are a group of amateur musicians. We offer recorder activities for the pleasure of playing together. All our activities are led by professional musicians.

Our practice sets welcome participants of all skill levels, from beginners (Flûte Découverte) to the most advanced (La Follia). You must be registered as a member to join a group. You can take advantage of a free trial before you sign up. 

Sight-readings are open to non-members as well as to members who are comfortable with sight-reading and ensemble music.

Registration is now open for the 2026–2027 season!

Registration for the 2026–2027 season of the Montreal Recorder Society (SFBM) is now open! You have until August 31, 2026, to submit your registration form.

To register, visit the "How to Register" page on our website. There you'll find all the important information and the steps you need to follow.

The MRS is growing: two New Daytime Ensembles!

This year, the SFBM is expanding! For the very first time, we’ll be offering two daytime sessions—great news for flutists who prefer to play during the day.
