Major changes to the MRS and registration period

2023-2024

The registration period will open shortly!

The 2023-2024 season will see big changes in the direction of the ensembles. Indeed, two of our beloved directors made the decision at the end of last season to step down as directors of their respective ensembles, namely Marie-Laurence Primeau who was directing Harmonia and Gilles Plante who was directing Flute en suite.

The Board therefore had to make the difficult decision to put Flute en suite on hiatus in 2023-2024. The members of this group will be able to join Harmonia or give themselves the challenge of registering for La Follia. The directors of these two groups will welcome them with pleasure!

On the other hand, Élyse Lamanque Girard will be directing Harmonia and Découverte. Thank you Elyse! Flute for fun will be directed by Jérémie De Pierre. Thanks Jeremy! Francis Colpron and Sophie Larivière will remain in charge of their usual ensembles, La Follia and Flutissimo respectively.

2024-2025

We have another departure, this one in June 2024, to announce. Sophie Larivière, who has been leading the Flutissimo ensemble for 25 years now, will bow out as the director of this group. In anticipation of the departure of our dear Sophie, we will take the time during the 2023-2024 season to review the distribution of ensembles to continue to offer the best possible experience to all members of the MRS.

Welcome Cocktail – Wednesday August 30, 2023

Save the date for the Welcome Cocktail, which will take place on August 30 at the École de musique Vincent-d’Indy, starting at 6:30 p.m. The directors will be there to present their program. In addition, we invite you to bring the scores and instruments that you would like to sell that day. More details will be communicated to you soon.
