The MRS is growing: two New Daytime Ensembles!
This season, the MRS is expanding! For the first time ever, we are offering two daytime ensembles, which is great news for recorder players who prefer making music during the day.
We are delighted to present:
- Vivace, directed by Annette Bauer, rehearsing Tuesday afternoons;
- Alba, directed by Marie-Laurence Primeau, rehearsing Wednesday mornings.
These two new ensembles will offer a musical level and repertoire comparable toHarmonia, while providing the convinience of daytime rehearsal. They will also rehearse at new locations, so be sure to consult the season calendar and the venue information on our website for the rehearsal addresses.
The ensembles offered this season are:
- Discover the Recorder, directed by Élyse Lamanque Girard
- Recorder for Fun, directed by Eulalie Emeriaud
- Harmonia, directed by Élyse Lamanque Girard
- La Follia, directed by Francis Colpron
- Vivace, directed by Annette Bauer
- Alba, directed by Marie-Laurence Primeau
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, you will find an ensemble that matches your musical interests and playing level.

During this unique event, each musical director will lead a short 15-minute sight-reading session, just as they would during a regular rehearsal, with the same teaching style, pace, and level of instruction. This gives you the opportunity to experience each ensemble firsthand and see which one feels like the best match.
It's a unique chance to experience each ensemble before making your choice.
After this series of short sight-reading sessions, we invite you to stay for our traditional reception. In a relaxed atmosphere, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the musical directors, ask questions about your plaing level if you're unsure, and get to know members of the MRS.
